After dinner, we walked at J Park before separated from my sister and brother-in-law back to Bangkok.
I saw my dad and sisters pictures at J Park before I went to Thailand. This place is a brand new where opens not long ago. Its designed as Japanese style. I do not know their business schedule but I guess they open every day. For me, this is a small plaza where provided restaurants and stores which is good for family, couple and everyone.
We stopped at Mangrove Plant the last place before headed to Bangkok. We had morning coffee at Na Cafe and had lunch at Suankwan restaurant and here. I learned a new vocabulary " Mangrove Plant". It was funny because I did not see the sign in English when we walked through which I asked Mister what to call the place like this. By the time I asked him, I walked by the sign and my eyes stopped at it.
There were not many people at the time we were there. I would like to hire the boat to go out and look around but it was very low tide as we could see the mud. I think a good time was in the morning and afternoon when high tide will be fun to sit on the boat and enjoy the environment.
While I was walking on the bridge to the tower at the end path, I noticed along the way, there were crab condos. Yes, it was condos as I see the sign next to them. I had imagination and see the pictures of crabs stack up on the wooden crib in the water. We walked up to the tower, looked at the view and walked back to the car. click to see album
This was the first place I wanted to visit on this trip to Thailand. I lived in Sukhothai for a couple years and went there once since my grandparents still alive. We did not stay long on that day because my grandfather had diarrhea.
I found that there were bicycling in Sukhothai Historic Park in the present day so this was must do. I let my dad knew all my planned and places I wanted to go then he could plan the trip. My dad was our guide and driver every time we visited Thailand.
We got there in the morning which did not have many tourists yet. We rented bicycles for each and started our tour. A few hours later, we decided to finish our tour as everyone got hungry. There was a local restaurant by the parking area where we wanted to eat but too many people at that time. Of course, it was noon and there were many tourists all over the place. Well, we agreed to move from there and looked for the place to eat on our way. Finally, we stopped at a hut by the road. An old couple who selling food told us that not many ingredients left but I replied to them, anything they could cook enough for us was fine. Eventually, we were full and ready to be on the road again.
We stopped at Pisanulok bus station to get tickets for my brother and his girlfriend. They were back to Bangkok. After that, we headed to the place where my dad wanted to take us stay overnight. Unfortunately, it was dark and my dad did not remember the turn well so we agreed to stay at the first place we passed. I will write about where we stayed separate.
I recommend this place and go in the morning because it is very hot in the afternoon especially if you go in Summer.
We left Suan Pakkad Museum and took a Tuk Tuk headed to Jim Thomson House. The traffic was not bad as we got there in 15 minutes. We could take the BTS but my feet hurt so I did not want to walk further to the BTS station.
I heard about this place for many years and finally, I was here the first time today. The place was not as I expected which smaller than I thought. I was a little upset.
There were many foreigners, oh! I should say, " Most foreigners" here. I got the tickets and lost for a couple minutes because I could not find a person I supposed to talk to. Well, I saw a woman with a name tag then I asked if she was the one. "NO" she said and pointed me to the counter I wanted to got. Eventually, I got our house tour timing. It was another hour.
While waiting, there were two groups staffs demonstrating silk thread making and also silk products store for tourists. Also, a restaurant in the area if hungry. I was sure that the price higher than outside then I walked out to get a bottle of water at a local shop.
Inside photos taking did not allow so I took a few photos outside.
The house tour was the same as in the USA. We walked with a guide and listened to the stories along. I liked this way because if I walked and looked by myself, I would not know why all this important or worth to show. Stories behind made the whole tour enjoyable.
If you interested to know Jim Thomson history, please search by yourself because I do not remember well. He was a foreigner man who loved Thai culture and built Thai traditional house for living and also produce Thai silk which is popular worldwide the present day.
I had been living in Bangkok for many years and travel passed by this place also very day when I was a college student, but I did not have a chance to visit. It is on Phayathai road where Phayathai BTS station is the nearest and takes a bit walk to get here. On that day, we stayed at Changwattana road so we took a taxi van on the Express-way, got off at Victory monument and walked for few miles. The houses are old which some house not allowed to touch on the art because of delicate and also could not take photos and video inside.
I like the place very much as I felt like home. Finally, I have been here.
